Bishop Michael F. Burbidge ordained five seminarians to the transitional diaconate Saturday, June 2, at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington, the largest number of deacons he has ever ordained at one time as a bishop.

In his homily, he speaks directly to Reverend Misters Nicholas F. Blank, Edouard B. Guilloux, Sean T. Koehr, Christopher W. Nyce Jr. and James F. Waalkes, giving advice to these “ordinary” men, our “Five Guys,” who have made an extraordinary choice to teach in truth and serve in love.

  1. Five may seem like a lot to the new bishop of Arlington, but from what I understand, that diocese routinely had larger groups to ordain not too many years ago. Hopefully Arlington can get back to ordination Masses like that.
