(19 Jan 2018) Pope Francis left Peru’s presidential palace after meeting with President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and headed to the Jesuit community building in Lima on Friday.
Kuczynski gave the Pope an intricately hand-carved artefact typical of Peruvian folk art, and the Pope blessed a personal item belonging to the president in return.
Upon leaving the palace the Pope got in to his popemobile and made one turn around the plaza that is directly in front of the palace so as to acknowledge the thousands of people who had come to see him.
The short drive ended when the Pope entered the gates of the Jesuit Community compound which he entered without further ado.
